Making new space: office in a shed

The other day I happened to come across Brian DeHamer’s post about building his home office in a shed behind his garage.  It is a very nice workspace, and the cost of this solution is probably within reach of many who work at home.  Brian has also put up a Flickr photo set about his office.  I have a friend in the amateur radio community who did the same thing for his radio “shack,” and I’ve long been tempted to set up a small shed in my own backyard to use as an office, sanctuary and creative studio.  (It’s not in the budget at the moment.)  You can visit Brian’s blog at dehamerspace.com.

This reminds me to remind you to go take a look at Where We Do What We Do–if you’re not overcome with envy, you may find this collection of home work-space environments to be inspiring, and maybe even awe-inspiring.  If you’ve got an innovative office space to tell us about, please do (and send us a photo)!

Thanks for reading this article!

@David: Thanks! That’s one of the perks of working at home–you can do things to your office that you could never do in a corporate office. (BTW–I’m AAØMS, but I haven’t been on the air for a while. Used to work packet, but it’s been a while. Love CW and homebrewing. Thanks again! –Doug
